Alongside with being a teacher and counsellor, I live with Keratoconus, a progressive eye condition that affects my vision.
Experiencing vision impairment has shaped not only how I see the world but also how I connect with others.
I’ve seen how living with health conditions—especially those that are often invisible—can bring unique emotional challenges:
- The fear and uncertainty about the future,
- The difficult reactions of others
- Daily adjustments frustrations
- The grief that can arise alongside resilience,
- The invisibility of symptoms, which can leave people feeling unseen or misunderstood.
These experiences affect not just the individual but also their families and support networks.
Most people don’t realise how deeply eye conditions affect their mental health until you experience it yourself.
Living with vision impairment and keratoconus allows me to bring deep empathy and understanding to my counselling work in supporting mental health difficulties that can come with Keratoconus and Vision Impairment.
I use my lived experience to support clients in building resilience, self-acceptance, and confidence through life’s challenges. As a Counsellor is supporting by creating a safe space for clients to explore emotions and develop practical coping strategies.
If this type of support is what you are after.
I offer Telehealth and Zoom sessions.
Please email me to book in your session or chat about any questions you may have.
